Panasonic Lumix FZ28 and G1 tested

Two exciting cameras from Panasonic have just left our test lab, the 18x megazoom Lumix DMC-FZ28 and the first Micro Four Third system camera, the Lumix DMC-G1. The latter was tested with its super-compact Lumix G Vario 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 Asph. Mega O.I.S standard zoom lens.

Nikon D90, Canon EOS 50D and Sony Alpha 900 tested

Three highly competitive D-SLR cameras have just passed our extensive image quality tests. The Nikon D90 and the Canon EOS 50D are tested with the new 18-200mm zoom lenses from respective companies, the D90 also with the new 18-105mm Nikkor zoom. The Sony Alpha 900 was tested with the excellent Carl Zeiss 24-70 mm f/2.8 zoom as well as the Sony 20 mm f/2.8 wide angle lens.

Leica and Olympus 25mm lenses tested

DIWA Labs have just completed the optical performance testing of two very different 25mm lenses for Four Thirds lens standard. The results reveal how the tiny Zuiko Digital 25mm f/2.8 "pancake" lens from Olympus compare with the large and heavy Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4 Asph. The Olympus E-3 was used for both lens tests.

Nikkor 200mm f2 and PC-Nikkor 24mm tested

Today, our tests of two exciting Nikon lenses were completed, the AF-S VR Nikkor 200mm f/2G IF-ED and the PC-E Nikkor 24mm f/3.5D ED. The lenses are about as different as two lenses can be, one for long distance nature and wildlife shooting, the other primarily for architecture and studio work. Both lenses performed brilliantly on our Nikon D3 body.

Panasonic Lumix LX3 and FX150 tested

Test results of the two latest Lumix compacts from Panasonic, the high performance LX3 and the 14 MP mini-compact FX150 are now available. Both cameras perform very well, although image noise at high sensitivities is still a problem that needs to be solved.
